Jessica A. Kent

Creative Literary Professional in Boston

Biography

I’m a writer from Boston, MA, with a BFA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College, and an ALM in English from Harvard University. I mostly focus on fiction writing, but also work within other genres, including academic writing, copy writing, marketing content, book reviews, interviews, longform articles, and whatever else I need at the moment.

In 2012, I founded The Boston Book Blog, a website covering the city's literary scene (you can find out more below).

Originally from New York, I consider myself a Bostonian through-and-through.

Boston Book Blog

In 2012, I moved back to Boston desiring to be a writer, so I went online to find out what the literary scene was like…and found the information I wanted, about local events and authors, was scattered about the web.

So I started a hub, pulling together readings, literary events, resources, local authors, and more. In just six years we’ve grown from a hardly-updated one page blog to a full, multi-resourced website that members of the local community have come to know as their sources for Boston literary community news and information.
